Dairy Queen in Niceville is now serving Orange Julius, has been a long time since I had one, but still a very good drink. Just needs a little Vodka in it, LOL, just kidding about the last part.
Dad’s Home
Feb 18th
Well great news dad is home. Having a bit of a tough time getting comfortable, but he is home.
Morning Report
Feb 17th
well things are going really well this morning, He is able to walk with out the walker. He is to get solid food today. If he keeps doing well there is a good chance that he will be going home tomorrow.
Blood Fail!
Feb 16th
Well dad had been doing well today, until his IV started leaking. They then had to find someone in the hospital to put in another one, cause no one on the floor could get it. Well she come in and put it in and left as she was getting off work. They then started the blood and about 30 mins into it, the vein blew and his are sweelled up where the blood was just going under the skin. It would seem that in this large of a hosptal that there is NO that is trained to put an IV in people that are considered “hard stick”. So they said they are just going to wait till tomorrow. God forbid that a “hard stick” person needs and IV for and emergancy, cause they would just be SOL tonight.
Update on Dad
Feb 16th
Sorry it is a little late this morning. Dad seems to be doing a little bit better this morning, he has had 2 BM’s and does not seem to be as gassey as he was yesterday. He has been up walking and they are going to start giving him some liquids.
Walking
Feb 15th
We have had dad up a few times walking today. Each time we went a little futher. He was in some pain with his knee so we finnaly got him to take a shot to help ease it. He seems to be resting now which is good. Still dealing with gas but we are hoping it will get better.
Test Results Back
Feb 15th
Well the doctor just come in and gave us the results. He has Stage 2 colon Cancer. He has Mucinous Colon Cancer, which they say is a rapid growing type. His lythnods come back clear, meaning there was no cancer in them. The doctor says that right now he has a 60-70% chance of being cured with just the operation and that if he chooses chemo that chance would increas to 70-80%. The docotor said we need to see how his liver is before we can choose to do chemo. The heart doctor says his heart is good to go on chemo. My thought are that if his liver is ok that he should get teh chemo, which would be FOLFOX type chemo. So we have to wait and see.
